Hello,

Wanted to see if anyone has tried to remove the armrests from their 2nd row captains chairs. We have bought generic bucket seat covers thst we want to use for the 2nd row captains chairs but want to keep the functionality with the armrests back there.

We have thought of either manually cutting holes to fit the armrest through the seat cover, but have thought being able to remove the armrest would allow for a smaller hole to be cut and easier installation of the seat covers.

Any information or suggestions are welcome just trying to find the easiest way to install the seat covers.

Easiest is to make a hole for the armrests, and slide the cover over them first, then secure the cover in place normally.

Otherwise, you can look up the seats at parts.subaru.com to see if you can glean how to disassemble enough to pull the arms off. It's done by removing the back and part of the bottom trim. You need to watch for wiring and be careful with the straps that hold the cover onto the seat frame.
