Don't forget to setup your Subaru Love Encore and get $25 Shell gas card free! Usually takes place 2 weeks after your new purchase and they will go over "questions" you may have about the new vehicle. You should ask your dealership about this if they didn't inform you. I was told this is sponsored by Subaru so it doesn't cost the dealership anything.

This is the second new Subaru we've bought (from different dealerships) and both times we've got it.

EDIT: Oh yeah, we needed to go into the dealership anyways to pick up our plates so.. it was a win/win for us.

Here is the reply I received from my dealership when asking about a "training class" after hearing about others on this forum mention it:

"We have one on one sessions with our Subaru delivery specialist Joe Aikens. He will call you after two weeks of ownership of the vehicle. Subaru will give you a $50.00 gas card after you meet with Joe. Per Subaru, he can not call you before two weeks of ownership so that you can compile a list of questions during your first two weeks of driving the car."

Ours was $50 as well. Good to go through to make sure you're not missing anything or get a question answered you don't want to ask here.

The amount of the gas card varies from dealer to dealer it seems. I wonder if they get an allotted $50 to spend and some pocket some of the money.

Mine was $25 for Speedway. I didn't have any questions so I ended up teaching the person things about the car since they've only done a few. Plus I am know it all of useless knowledge.

Do we need to schedule this with the dealer where you bought the Ascent or any dealer would work?
where you bought it. I'd start of with calling them. :) But anything FREE is always good, esp with the prices of gas (esp on the west coast)

LOL, shucks! :) $50 can get me down to California with our 500miles a tank EPA rating.

Technically you don't have to do it at the dealership where you bought your car, although Subaru does encourage it. Also, not every dealership is able to issue the gas cards. They have to take certain steps first. Its easy to do, but a few dealerships by me have not done it yet.

Oh..then it's a bummer for me. My dealer is 2.5 hr drive from me
Is the department of motor vehicles sending you the plates or sending it to the dealership? If so, just schedule it when you go in to get your new plates.
