News and rumors have hybrids coming to the majority of the Subaru lineup starting in 2024/2025, including the Ascent in 2024. I doubt that timeline is still accurate, if it ever was to begin with. The tepid Impreza hybrid is meh, and not ready to jump full EV. Forester hybrid or a revised Impreza/Crosstrek hybrid may serve the commuter car role, but otherwise would be looking to Toyota and others to go up a size from the current Focus while meeting or exceeding its fuel economy.

That's likely a true statement based on my experience owning a 2006 Highlander Hybrid Limited...those electric motors have "yuge" low end torque. At the time, it was very beneficial to me to...um...get out of our driveway at the old property without getting run over by big, loaded stone trucks exceeding the speed limit.
I agree that the inside is more Toyota, particularly with the center console design, but the exterior does appear to be derived as Robert suggests.
