I will either get the info corrected on the website, or figure out why it's not working for some/all people, and will let you know.I doubt that very much, but please prove me wrong.
I guess it is hands free - you only need one finger.Nope... Only push button behind Subaru badge, keyfob or button in cabin to open.
The basic and premium trims do NOT have hands free lift gates. The manual in my 2021 Ascent Premium seems to cover ALL trim options, and it does not mention a hands free power option at all. We didn’t want leather interior or the moon roof, and to add some of the other options you might want you have to first upgrade to the limited trim which adds another $5,000 to the price and occluded things we were not interested in. A couple neat options are only available if you upgrade to the Touring trim and that still another $5,000. Before you knoe it you’re knocking on a $50,000 sticker!
The 2018 model has hands free, because my daughter has one. My 2021 premium model does not.I could have sworn that 2 different salesman at 2 different Subaru dealerships opened the tail gate by waving their hand over the Ascent's Subaru logo. Did I miss them sneakily pressing the button as they swiped the logo? Does Subaru call it hands free because you don't have to manually lift the gate rather than the common understanding everyone else has hands free as in touch free?
Sorry, I was mistaken. My daughter had the 2018 Honda Pilot! But my 2021 Ascent Premium does not have it.The 2018 model has hands free, because my daughter has one. My 2021 premium model does not.
