2020 Ascent rear tail gate will not latch closed

I need to know how to fix the tail gate that will not close and it keeps draining the battery

Have you checked to make sure that no cargo mats or other obstructions are in the path of the door or latch?

When you get the PRG sorted have the battery checked.

Steps to reinitialize:

Page 157 -- manually fully open the gate, and then pull down so that it starts to close as per manual.
